MESH Club

Africa’s first curated members’ club is a super-stylish and exclusive work and play space for budding and established entrepreneurs. Taking up one floor of the Trumpet building along Keyes Art Mile in Rosebank the space is designed for networking and collaboration, or just getting your work done in a mix of public and private areas.

With office space, meeting rooms and hot-desking facilities, a screening room, lounge, dining area, coffee station and bar, this is a members’ club that no one will want to leave.

Founder Jonathon Meyer has pioneered elegant working and meeting spaces. His idea for MESH was to create an exclusive club that mixes levels of business experience and also creates easy opportunities for meeting like-minded people. As he puts it, this is not designed to be for “hipsters-only or as a Gentleman’s Club”.

There’s not much they haven’t thought of including lighting designed around circadian rhythms, ensuring the space follows your body clock and urge for a different pace of activity throughout the day. There’s a community manager to provide information on members, ensuring you’ll never find yourself in the awkward position of not knowing who someone is, and to manage relationships between those interested in business collaborations. There are also regular members’ events which might include anything from a craft presentation to a movie screening.

From around 15:00 play replaces work – as it should in any respectable workspace – with the Mix Bar opening up to non-members, and taking advantage of its sunlit location to attract people from across the precinct.

With Keyes Art Mile being a centre for art and design, MESH Club has been designed around an art collection featuring murals by New York-based South African artist Louis de Villiers (also known as Skullboy) and Jane Alexander’s astonishing sculpture Serviceman 1994.
