Szczecin, like nearby Berlin, is located on a sizeable water-table, which has earned it the nickname 'the floating city'. There is, however, another obscure sight of 'floating' fame that could easily be celebrated over the aforementioned 'oldest cinema in the world'. Built in Hamburg in 1880, the oldest floating dock in the world can be found on Basen Cichy, where Kanał Wrocławski (Breslauer fahrt) meets Duńczyca river (Dunzig).
