Hiki Vineyard

  Bycz 34, Bytom Odrzański      (+48) 50 928 01 92     more than a year ago
A few clicks away from the serenely Oder River, Hiki Vineyard in the south of Lubuskie is a truly grass-roots operation when compared to most of its contemporaries. The homestead operation of Władysław and Katarzyna Hiki came into existence in 2015 and, since then, have approached every day with the same passion and respect for the quality of their produce and the nature that binds it. The vineyards itself is situated 102 meters above sea level, on the former state principality of Prussian General and Prince Johann Carl Friedrich zu Carolath-Beuthen, who identified the potential of this terrain for grape cultivation. These winemaking traditions and the Hiki family's passion for viticulture were the inspiration for planting more than 3,000 bushes here.

The welcoming atmosphere of the Hiki estate can be enjoyed by a tour of the winery, in addition to the all-important wine tastings that continues to draw eno-enthusiats throughout the year. Keep in mind that prior reservations are required for these activities and prices vary depending on time and catering requirements. (Yes, there are restaurants are in the town, but here you can be spoilt with some great regional delicacies to match your drop!) If you just plan on dropping in, the on-site winery shop is open during business hours - this is the Hiki family homestead after all and they work tirelessly all year round on their vines! Wine-fanatical families with children in tow are also encouraged to visit, and the local area of Bytom-Odrzański is filled with stunning attractions - a beautiful forest, the old town square of Bytom, river boat tours on the Oder, bike trails and much more! Local accommodation options are of course available, however, those looking for a truly unique experience are recommended to check out the nearby agrotourism centre.
